Tanya Farah Bio: Inspired by her heritage, Tanya Farah has an affinity for translating vivid and dimensional influences from timeless textiles, embroideries and motifs that are reminiscent of the ancient temples and palaces of her ancestry. Ornate scrolling paisleys and diamond encrusted tapestry flowers entwine themselves along delicate golden chains throughout the Collection. This season, Tanya introduces color, demonstrating an intricate sense of feminine style, depth, and texture. While Tanya Farah is unmistakably a Couture Collection, the designer loves pieces that are easy to wear and merchandisable with anything in a woman’s wardrobe. Spoken like a true New York City Mom, Tanya believes that beautiful jewellery should transition a look seamlessly from day to evening, from the board room to a PTA meeting to a dinner party. Thus, all of Farah’s pieces are carefully designed with the intention to layer or stack for drama at night, yet are strong enough to stand alone for subtlety during the day. Most recently, Tanya Farah has been featured in Forbes’ Designer 2008 Showcase and at the Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Museum of Natural History alongside Cartier and Bulgari while celebrities like Oprah, Queen Latifah, and Hayden Panettiere have been photographed, adorned in her designs.
